ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY

Visit the "City of Bridgeport" online to learn more about our "Community of Choice"!

Bridgeport, West Virginia, is a small residential town (population 7,598) located at the intersection of Interstate 79, a major North-South artery, and US Route 50, a major East-West highway. First chartered in 1816, the town was named for the first bridge in Harrison County, built across Simpson Creek in 1803.

Bridgeport is a fast-growing community with two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.   Harrison-Marion Regional Airport and the FBI Fingerprint Center are just two of the  business developments found in our area.  The latest addition to the area is the CharlesPointe area, which includes a conference center, hotels, housing, and many more planned developments.
