Public Notice

      RESA VII is applying for the FY2010 Safe & Drug Free School and Communities Act grant application that will provide funding for the period of      July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010.  The Title IV program combines strategies for safe and drug free prevention, intervention and support programming to meet the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act.  You may contact Sharon Stalnaker with any input for this application .  The grant can be reviewed on RESA VII’s website http://resa7.k12.wv.us after August 31, 2009.  If you have any questions please contact Sharon Stalnaker, Safe & Drug Free Coordinator, at 304-269-7612



The RESA VII Title IV Safe & Drug Free School consortium grant for the 2009-2010 school year has been completed. This grant focuses on researched based programs that prevent or reduce drug and alcohol use, and violence in our youth. There are eightcounties in the RESA VII Safe & Drug Free School consortium: Barbour, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Lewis, Preston,  Tucker, and Upshur
 
Programs covered in the Safe & Drug Free School grant include:
  •   Peer Mediation for middle & high schools
  •  
    Life Skills (6th – 8th grades)
  • Respect and Protect
  •  
    School-wide Positive Behavior Support 
  • Raze (middle & high schools)
  • Student Assistance Teams (SAT)
  • Parent Communication / Involvement
  • Character Education
