Please be certain that all scholarship applications are neat and legible. Type or word process if possible; otherwise print in black ink.
 
It is the student’s responsibility to submit all scholarship
applications to meet deadlines.
 
Be sure to send thank you notes for every scholarship you
receive!
 
Seniors: You are encouraged to e-mail us if you want transcripts sent to colleges.  We can then e-mail you to let you know your transcript has been sent.  E-mail us with questions or with a request to be called to the guidance office.  We check our e-mails several times a day.

WVIHF- WEST VIRGINIA ITALIAN HERITAGE FESTIVAL
Deadline: April 1, 2010
Requirements:
Must be a WV resident of Italian descent.
Pay $10 registration fee w/application.
High school senior, undergraduate or graduate.
Scholarship applications available from Mrs. Minutelli or Mrs. Moore.
 
 
PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP
Must have a 3.0 overall cumulative GPA and a 3.0 cumulative core GPA and a 22 ACT (minimum subscores of 20) or an SAT composite of 1020 (reading 490, math 480).  Apply for PROMISE and WV Higher Ed Grant at  ww.wvapply.com .  At that site, click on both PROMISE and West Virginia Higher Ed Grant.  Do this before March 1. To receive PROMISE you must also complete the FAFSA.
 
 
WEST VIRGINIA BUSINESS COLLEGE
No Deadline
Full tuition scholarship available.
If you are planning to attend WV Business College after graduation, you may be able to qualify for a full-tuition scholarship, valued at $18,000.

HCOP - HEALTH CAREERS OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM
Six-week residential program for students interested in medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy or for students interested in allied health.
Only 30 students will be selected!  Students enrolled will receive a stipend to cover expected costs of participating in this summer enrichment program; such as housing, supplies and food

WEST VIRGINIA ENGINEERING, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
To qualify for this program, a student must meet the following basic selection criteria:
1. be a United States citizen or resident alien;
2. be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student in an engineering, science, or technology program leading to a certificate, associate or baccalaureate degree at an eligible institution of higher education in WV;
3. have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale from high school;
4. be willing to work in the field of engineering, science or technology in WV on year for each year of the scholarship was received, and
5. be willing to repay the scholarship with interest if he/she fails to fulfill the work requirement.
AMOUNT: Not to exceed $3000.00 per academic year.

This scholarship, conditioned on maintaining a “B or 3.0” GPA,   and    enrollment in an accredited school.
A Social Security number is required for our records, and if you do not have one, you should apply immediately, at your nearest Post Office or Social Security office.  There is no charge to obtain this number.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of: Financial Need, Leadership/Community Involvement, and Academics, and an interest in continuing education.
Scholarships may be withdrawn if a student’s conduct is contrary to the principles of law and order and morality.

2010-2011 INFORMATION AND APPLICATION 
Purpose:  The purpose of the Albert Yanni Scholarship Program is to provide incentives, high expectations and encouragement for talented career and technical students to pursue advanced education and training related to their technical disciplines. 
General Information:  A maximum of twenty scholarships of $2,000.00 each will be awarded to students selected by a committee of State Department of Education personnel.  Applicants selected must present proof that they have maintained their eligibility requirements before awards are presented.

CLARKSBURG LEAGUE FOR SERVICE
SCHOLARSHIPS
 
Every year, the League has a Scholarship Committee. The committee's duties are to distribute, collect and evaluate scholarship applications for the High School Scholarship, The Dr. A. Robert Marks Medical Scholarship and the Rose Marie Grimes Nursing Scholarship
Scholarship applicants must be a senior at a Harrison County high school who is pursuing a post-secondary education.
 
 
Every year the League sponsors a boy and a girl to Mountaineer Boys State and Rhododendron Girls State respectively.
 

 

MARSHALL UNIVERSITY VISIT

An admissions counselor from Marshall University will be at Liberty High School on Friday, March 19, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
