Seniors: You are encouraged to email us if you want transcripts sent to colleges.  We can then remail you to let you know your transcript has been sent.  Email us with questions or with a request to be called to guidance office.  We check our emails several times a day.

Requirements: 2.5+ GPA, plan to attend 2 or 4yr. college, univ, or

per year, actively involved in community service activities, financial need.

WVU Freshman admissions requirements:
4 units of English; 4 units of progressively higher college prep mathematics (three must be Algebra I, II, geometry; 3 units of lab science; 3 units of social studies; 2 units of the same foreign language; 1 units of arts. (These are similar at other WV colleges.)
Applicants must have earned at least a 2.0 GPA and either a composite ACT score of 19 or a combined SAT score of 910.  Questions?  Email the admissions counselor, Ryan Boyd, at Ryan.Boyd@mail.wvu.edu.

WV ITALIAN HERITAGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Deadline: April 1, 2009
This scholarship application is restricted for West Virginia residents of Italian descent.  High school seniors, college undergraduates & graduates may apply and will be considered for ALL available WVIHF scholarships.

The Liberty High School Band's
"Mike Perri Music Education Scholarship".
The purpose of the program is to annually recognize and encourage one outstanding LHS band Senior that is pursuing a college degree in music education.  Presentation of this scholarship will be based on the candidate's musical accomplishments, scholastic achievement, potential for success in the teaching profession, expression of professional goals, philosophy of music education, and personal qualifications. 
The amount of each annual scholarship will be $500. Mail completed application to:

SCHOLARSHIP EXAM

One $5000 Scholarship and one $2500 Scholarship will be awarded.

AYN RAND "Anthem" AND "The Fountainhead" Essay contest for grades 9-12.  Go to www.aynrand.org/contests.  Essays must be submitted by March 20TH (GRADES 9 & 10) or April 25, 2009 (grades 11 &12. 
PROMISE Scholarship:  Must have a 3.0 overall cumulative gpa and a 3.0 cumulative core gpa and a 22 ACT (minimum subscores of 20) or an SAT composite of 1020 (reading 490, math 480).  Apply for PROMISE and WV Higher Ed Grant  at  ww.wvapply.com .  At that site, click on both PROMISE and West Virginia Higher Ed Grant.  Do this before March 1. To receive PROMISE you must also apply for the FAFSA.  (see below).
We will be hosting a Financial Aid Night at Liberty sometime in January.  Parents are encouraged to attend.  We will have instruction on completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

If you are planning to attend WV Business College after graduation, you may be able to qualify for a full-tuition scholarship, valued at $18,000.
