It's your future. Make it happen.
Happy Holiday Season!
Good blessings and best wishes to all.
I am excited since I have just returned from a
great trip to North Carolina with 44 great kids. Your behavior was wonderful and you were very appreciative. I hope you learned a lot and experienced some lifelong memories.
As the holiday season unfolds, I hope
your appreciation extends to your families
and your community. Let all those you value
know how you feel. Your happiness, your joy,
and your accomplishments are great gifts to
parents, family, teachers, and others that help
you along the way. Keep doing your best.
HAPPY EVERYTHING!!!

THANKS FOR A GREAT TRIP!!!
All of us at the UB office want to say THANK YOU to our juniors and seniors for a great trip to NC. Your excellent behavior and your constant cooperation with the staff made this trip a wonderful experience.
SCHOLARSHIPS –
THEY’RE NOT JUST ABOUT GRADES!
One of the biggest myths about scholarships is that they're won based mostly on grades. As a result, a lot of qualified students don't even apply for scholarships that could award them the recognition they deserve and the help they need.
High grades and test scores are significant but being a positive, well-rounded person is just as important.
Want to maximize your chances of being a scholarship recipient? Follow these tips and show administrators your true potential:
· Find a mentor. Have a teacher, guidance counselor, work supervisor, or someone who stands out in your community be your mentor. They can help you with applications and give you an all-important recommendation.
· Get a job. Paid work experience shows initiativeand helps you learn to budget your time effectively.
· Volunteer. Get involved in your community and your school. It shows you care about people, have leadership potential, and helps you to develop better people skills.
· Be a leader. Take the initiative, assume responsibilities, and show that you are willing to commit to the things in which you believe. Participate in student government or organize a cause.
· Record your accomplishments. Keep track of any awards and honors you receive that help you stand out from your peers.
· Know what you want and why. You should be able to explain your goals and know what steps you will take to reach them.
