ATTENTION JUNIORS: THOSE WHO PLAN TO REGISTER FOR COLLEGE COURSES NEXT YEAR SHOULD PLAN ON TAKING THEIR ACT TEST ON THE APRIL 14, 2012 TEST DATE!!
 
IN-SCHOOL WRESTLING MATCH TODAY @ 1:30 – TICKETS ARE $2
 
Mrs. Mathenys 3rd block class will be picking up recycled paper during 3rd block on Fridays. Should there not be school on Fridays then paper pick up will be on Thursday. Teachers can help to lower class disruption by setting their blue recycle container outside their door on this day.  
 
1.  Gear- Up Credit Recovery is held on Monday – Thursday in room 135 from 3 to 5 pm. Math tutoring will be available on Monday and Wednesdays at the same time.
2.  Starting today, January 19 and continuing every Tuesday and Thursday until February 23 there will be conditioning in the commons area from 3 – 4 pm for all spring sports (boys and girls). Please bring shorts and tennis shoes. All participants must have a physical to participate.
3. Oliverios Bridal Shop at Eastpointe has prom dresses for sale for $90.00. Anyone interested please see Mrs. Matheny as soon as possible!!
4. AA teachers: If any student returns the survey on the Harrison County Policy and Administrative Regulations Guide please forward it to the office.
5. For Sale at the Fairmont Hospice Thrift Shop behind Ryder Pharmacy – Prom Gowns – Extremely cheap and extremely pretty.
6. Staff: You received AAA Membership Program forms in your mailbox. There will be an envelope in the office to send to Mrs. Lafferty by February 3 if you want us to send it in for you.
7.  There is still space available for the court of Regina Maria XXXIV. Any senior girl of Italian descent who is interested may call 304-622-7314 or email at benvenuto79@wvihf.com
8. The Photography Club will be having a meeting TODAY from 3-5 in Ms. Wamsleys room.
9. Today is Digital Learning Day – The new TIS for high schools, Libby Jarom will be in our school to hear your needs, wants and complaints on February 2.
10. The Sophomore Class will be selling roses for $2 a piece to send to your ”secret admirer” or “sweetheart” for Valentines Day. They will be sold during both lunches on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. The roses with your message will be delivered Tuesday, February 14th. We will start selling them this Friday.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
 
An excused absence is an absence verified in writing by the parent and defined as one of the accepted absences by the State of West Virginia for licensure to operate a motor vehicle. Verification of absence must be submitted upon return to school but no later than five (5) days after return to school.
 
An unexcused absence is an absence that is not verified by the parent in writing for a class.
 
Parents may provide parental excuses for a student’s illness. Five (5) days of parental excuses are permitted during a school semester. Parental excuses over the five (5) day limit will be unexcused.
