PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
GPA = 3.00 cumulative and 3.00 Core
ACT = composite of 22 and 20 minimum in each sub category
January 1, 2013 – FAFSA forms will be available at www.fafsa.ed.gov
March 1, 2013 – Promise applications must be completed.
SCHOLARSHIPS
1. High School seniors can enter a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship for their education expenses at a college or university. One winner will be chosen every two weeks beginning Oct. 26, 2012. Visit off to college.info
2. The Honors College of Marshall University seeks exceptional applicants for the Society of Yeager Scholars, a four-year scholarship at Marshall University. A minimum ACT score of 30 is required. An online application is available at www.marshall.edu/yeager
3. The West Virginia Business College has scholarships available for students interested in an Associate’s Degree. Call 304-232-0361 to register for the test. Tests are given every Saturday beginning in September.

5. The Christian Connector provides a FREE Christian college information service as well as a $2,500 Christian college scholarship drawing. Students can simply log onto www.ChristianConnector.com to request information and automatically be entered in the scholarship drawing.
6. College cooperative education is a unique academic program combining classroom studies with professional work experience in a field related to your education and career goals. The eleventh annual National Co-op Scholarship Program has applications available now. Students must attend one of the 10 partner institutions. For more information to www.waceinc.org
7. The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program has scholarships available for college bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity and citizenship. Eligibility requirements and an online application may be found at www.reaganfoundation.org/scholarships
8. The GREATER KANAWHA VALLEY FOUNDATION on-line scholarship application will be available on November 1. Go to www.tgkvf.org . Scholarships for students planning to attend a private school may be found here.

10. The 2013 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest is now available. For contest information, registration, and to submit your essay, visit the Profile in Courage Essay Contest at www.jfklibrary.org
11. Odenza Marketing Group spring Award- Deadline is March 30, 2013—must have a 2.5 GPA and answer essay questions. Go to http://studentscholarships.org/scholarship.php
12. Carrington Dental Centre Scholarship- Deadline is April 1, 2013. Go to http://www.facebook.com/myscholars
13. The Timms Family Trust has scholarships for students planning to major in the performing arts. Deadline is March 31, 2013.
14. The Foundation of Monongalia General Hospital has scholarships available for students entering the health field. See Mrs. Decker for qualifications. Deadline is March 15,
15. The West Virginia Community and Technical College System announce a video competition where winners will earn a two semester scholarship at a WV community and technical college. Visit www.EarnMoreWV.com for more information.
16. The ALBERT YANNI SCHOLARSHIP is now available to students wishing to pursue additional education as a career and technical education completer. Deadline is March 31, 2013. See Mrs. Decker for an application.
17. The Jim Bailey Scholarship is now available for students who wish to pursue post-secondary vocational and technical programs. The application is available at www.wvapt.org. Deadline is April 15, 2013.
18. The Charles Feoppel Educational Loan Trust has information available now. Deadline is April 15th. See Mrs. Decker for more information.
19. The P.G. and Ruby Rush Hollandsworth Perpetual Scholarship has applications available now. Students planning to attend a private college in WV may apply. Deadline is April 15th. See Mrs. Decker for applications.
20. The WV Pumpkin Festival has scholarships available. Deadline is March 31. See Mrs. Decker for an application.
21. The Warren and Betty Burnside Foundation has scholarship applications available now for who plan to attend a public college in WV and did not qualify for the promise Scholarship. Those students planning to attend a private college and qualified for the Promise Scholarship may also apply. March 15th is the deadline.
22. The Fraternal Order Orioles as a scholarship available for students that are children or grandchildren of Orioles members. Must have a 2.5 GPA to apply. See Mrs. Decker for an application. Deadline is May 1.
23. Alpha Delta Kappa has a $500 merit scholarship for an outstanding Harrison County high school senior pursuing a four year college degree. Deadline is March 28, 2013. See Mrs. Decker for guidelines and an application.
24. The General Federation of Women’s Clubs has scholarships available. Students may apply for both the state and local scholarship. Deadline is April 1, 2013. See Mrs. Decker for an application.
25. The Hotsinpiller Scholarship is now available to students majoring in criminal justice or another social science. Must have a 3.00 GPA. Deadline is March 15, 2013. See Mrs. Decker for an application.
1. The Shinnston Garden Club has a scholarship available for a Lincoln Senior. Frist preference will be given to a relative of a Garden Club Member. Deadline is April 1.
2. Alpha Delta Kappa- Beta chapter has the Madge McDaniel Memorial Scholarship available. Students who plan to major in education may apply. Deadline is March 25, 2013.
3. The John and Mildred Peluso Italian American Scholarship is now available. Students must write an essay about their Italian American heritage. Deadline is April 15. See Mrs. Decker for more information.
5. The 2013 Student View Scholarship Program has scholarships available. Simply log on to www.student-view.com and complete an application survey about colleges in your area. April 21st is the deadline.
6. The WV Desk and Derrick Club has a scholarship available. Deadline is MARCH 15. Students must write an essay about the importance of their chosen major in today’s society. See Mrs. Decker for more information.
7. The Auxiliary to United Hospital Center has the Ann Bramer Scholarship applications available. Students must have a 3.00 GPA and an ACT composite of 21 and plan on majoring in the health field. Deadline is May 1. See Mrs. Decker for an application.
8. The American Association of University Women has a scholarship available. A short essay is required. Deadline is March 31. See Mrs. Decker for more information.
9. The Tom Stockert Foundation has scholarships available. Students must have a 3.00 GPA and be accepted at an accredited college or university. Applications must be postmarked by April 15. See Mrs. Decker for more information.
10. The Shinnston-Lincoln Scholarship Foundation Inc. has applications available for several scholarships; including Ashcraft, Jackson, Lyon Memorial and the Shinnston-Lincoln Foundation Scholarships. Also on this application are the JV Morris Scholarship at WVU and the Charles and Ethel Righter Scholarship at FSU.
11. The Lumberport Alumni has 2 scholarships available and the deadline is April 25, 2013. See Mrs. Decker for more information and an application.
12. Lincoln High School Memorial Scholarship is now available. It was established in memory of deceased staff members. See Mrs. Decker for an application. Deadline is April 30, 2013.
13. Harrison County Education Association has a scholarship for a graduating senior whose parent is a member of the Harrison County Education Association. See Mrs. Decker for an application. Deadline is May 3, 2013.
14. The Luvon Greaver Scholarship is now available. Students must have a 3.00 GPA and be accepted to a four year college or university. See Mrs. Decker for an application.
15. The Elizabeth Davisson and Abelina Suarez Educational Trust have a scholarship available. Students must have a 3.00 GPA and plan to attend a 2 or 4 year program. See Mrs. Decker for an application. Deadline is April 30th.
16. The American Legion Auxiliary has scholarships available for students who plan to attend college or a school of higher education. Applicants must have a 2.00 GPA. See Mrs. Decker for an application. Deadline is April 30th.
17. The Shinnston American Legion has scholarships available for Lincoln students. See Mrs. Decker for an application. Deadline is April 30th.
