Our Annual Jump Rope For Heart was very successful! Thank you to all who contributed in some way!  Total raised so far. . .$2,300.00 and still counting.  Also, our students worked hard and raised over $1,300.00 for the Hop For Leukemia this year. . .our students and their parents are GREAT!

Coming in February:  Students in grades K through 5 will participate in the American Heart Association's Jump Rope For Heart. 

Coming in March:  Students in grades 3-5 will begin a Marble Unit which ends with a tournament in April, and the winners advancing to the County Tournament in May. This year, our own Logan Gray won 1st place and will head to Wildwood, NJ, to play in the National Marble Tournament.  Good luck Logan! 

Coming in April:  Leukemia Society of America's Hop For Leukemia

Also coming in May:  5th Grade Linedancers will perform for the entire school.

  

Hello!

     My name is Kathy DeMarco and I teach Physical Education.  I have taught Phys. Ed. for the last 21 years at Lumberport Elementary.  Before teaching P.E., I also taught 5th Grade and a part-time gifted class, both at this school.

      I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Fairmont State in 1983.

     I also hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education from West Virginia University, which I received in 2000.

Personal Information:

     I am married to Frank A. DeMarco, Harrison County Magistrate, and we have two children. Our daughter Tara works as a Nail Technician at Tuscan Sun Spa in Bridgeport, and also does permanent make-up.  She has two children, Emma, who will be a Junior at Lincoln High School this coming year, and Sammie, who will be in Third Grade at Big Elm.  She is married to Steven Mark Williams who also works at the Tuscan Sun Spa. Currently, she is attending Fairmont State University in Nursing. Our son, Ryan A. DeMarco, recently graduated from West Virginia University majoring in Criminology Investigations, working part-time at Fed Ex and looking for a full-time job. He also works as a Jerry West Basketball Referee and umpires high school as well as Babe Ruth baseball.   

Hobbies:

Playing with my grandchildren and our Chihauha Lilli Bell, curling up with our cat Middy and a good book, swimming and cleaning our pool and hot tub, visiting and taking care of my mother at St. Barbara's Nursing Home, and playing the piano.
