Welcome!
I will list a few things that you might like to know to get to know me..
*My name is Mrs. Sharon Todd.
*I am married and have two adult daughters and four grandsons.
*I am one of five Title I funded teachers here at LES.
*I am now in my 35th year of teaching, 33 years have been in Title I. I have also taught fourth and first grades in the past.
*I went to school at LES many years ago as a student.
* I taught here for several years when my children were attending LES, went to Adamston Elementary for 15 years and now am back.
* I teach reading and math to all grades levels but I have to admit that reading is my favorite subject.
Want to know the secret to improving reading? It's not really a secret. We do it every day and the more you do the better you get. What is it? Practice, practice, practice. According to my old friend Dr. Suess, "The more you read the more you will know. " So if you want your child to become a great reader, read to them 20 minutes a day, read with them when they begin reading and talk about what they read when they are reading independently. Reading is a skill just like learning to play a sport. The more effort you put forth the better reader you will become.
I look forward to getting to know all the students, parents, and staff at LES. Have a wonderful year learning all you can at LES.
