The ABE Program is funded by both federal (WIA TITLE II) and state monies. ABE provides basic education skill enrichment to adults, sixteen (16) years and older, who have officially dropped out of school.
The ABE Program has traditionally served adults in classes to develop the academic skills necessary to successfully complete the GED examination; however, ABE also focuses on other programs to assist adults to improve their quality of life. Such programs are: literary skills, computer literacy, workplace education, transition programs for dislocated workers, employability skills training, civil service examination training, writing and math skill improvement.
