Presently: First off I would like to start by wishing everyone a Happy New Year!!! Upcoming Events: Presidential Fitness Test (Practice has already begun in the students' gym classes!) February 9-13: Jump Rope for Heart. This is our annual fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Information will be sent home with the students the last week in January. February 12: As part of National Children's Dental Health Month Wilson Martino Dental Associates has been gracious enough to volunteer to come into the school and teach the classrooms about the importance of proper dental hygiene. Remember: My door is always open and you are welcome and encouraged to come and join your child for their physical education class! Have a GREAT Day!! HEALTH CLASSES: Parents- As I have been stating, I am going to try and get my lesson plans for my health classes listed here on the web page. The following will be the schedule for the month of January: Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades- These students do all their work in class and therefore have no homework. Third Grade- Week 1: Chapter 3 Lessons 1 and 2 pgs. 60-67. Students have to read the lessons and answer question 1 in the Summary on pgs. 63 and 67. Students are to write the entire question and underline the missing word. Week 2: Chapter 3 Lessons 3 and 4 pgs. 68-75. Students have to read the lessons and answer question 1 in the Summary on pgs. 70 and 75. Students are to write the entire question and underline the missing word. Week 3: Chapter 3 Lesson 5 pgs. 78-80. Students have to read the lesson and answer question 1 in the Summary on pg. 80. Students are to write the entire question and underline the missing word. Week 4: Chapter 3 test. Students are to answer questions 3-15 on pgs. 82-83. They are to write the letter of the answer only! Fourth Grade- Week 1: Chapter 3 Lessons 1 and 2 on pgs. 60-71. Students have to read the lessons and answer question 1 in the Summary on pgs. 65 and 71. Students are to write the entire question and underline the missing word. Week 2: Chapter 3 Lesson 3 on pgs. 72-75. Students have to read the lesson and answer question 1 in the Summary on pg. 75. Students are to write the entire question and underline the missing word. Week 3: Chapter 3 Lessons 4 and 5 on pgs. 78-86. Students have to read the lessons and answer question 1 in the Summary on pgs. 83 and 86. Students are to write the entire question and underline the missing word. Week 4: Chapter 3 test. Students are to answer questions 3-15 on pgs. 88-89. They are to write the letter of the answer only! Fifth Grade- Week 1: I made a mistake on the page numbers so there is no assignment. Week 2: Chapter 3 Lessons 1 and 2 on pgs. 72-83. Students have to read the lessons and answer question 1 in the Summary on pgs. 77 and 83. Students are to write the entire question and underline the missing word. Week 3: Chapter 3 Lessons 3 and 4 on pgs. 84-94. Students have to read the lessons and answer question 1 in the Summary on pgs. 87 and 94. Students are to write the entire question and underline the missing word. Week 4: Chapter 3 Lessons 5 and 6 on pgs. 96-106. Students will read the lessons. They will also complete the Chapter 3 test by answering questions 3-19 on pgs. 108-109. They are to write the letter of the answer only! Week 1- January 5-9 Week 2- January 12-16 Week 3- January 19-23 Week 4- January 26-30 As a reminder- The students only get health one day a week and work is due the following week. Please be assured that their homework assignments will be written on the board in each classroom and left there the entire week. |
