This area of study is designed to teach students the fundamental accounting concepts, principles, and controls with emphasis on checking accuracy, promoting honesty, encouraging efficiency and speed in processing data.
 
Business Computer Applications:  1432
Credit: 1 unit
Prerequisite:   Keyboarding Applications or Business Computer Applications
This area of study is designed to provide the learner with the opportunity to understand and apply integrated software to basic business applications.   The student will be introduced to database, word processing, graphics, telecommunications, and spreadsheet software packages.
 
Keyboarding Applications:  1441
Credit: 1 unit
Prerequisite:  none
This area of study is designed to provide the learners with keyboarding skills required in related business education occupations.   Major instructional concepts in this area include: general office procedures, keyboard operations, and microcomputer skills.
 
Word Processing Concepts:  1449
Credit: 1 unit
Prerequisite:  Keyboarding Applications
The student will utilize word processing techniques to improve the flow of work in order to process an idea from its conception to its final form.   The use of automated equipment and modern filing, reproduction, and communication systems must be employed.
 

Worked Based Learning - Business:  7704
Credit: 1 unit
Prerequisite:  Instructor approval
This class will be open to seniors who with four classes during the senior year will have the required 27 credits required for graduation.   Students will select one of the six clusters and then participate in 2 of the majors within that cluster, plus one session of community service.
