In her 17^th year in education, Donna Hage’s philosophy on education: “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire” (Yeats). Prior to becoming an administrator, she taught English 10, creative writing, special education, and AP Literature at Grafton High School for 11 years; this is where she earned her National Board Certified Teacher certificate in 2004 in the area of English Language Arts/Adolescence and Young Adult. Also, she was an assistant principal for two years at Ritchie County High School, for three years at Liberty High School, and was named as an assistant principal in charge of students with last name A-K at Robert C. Byrd in July 2011.

Having obtained a Bachelor of Science in English Education, Masters in Special Education, and Educational Leadership certificate from West Virginia University, Mrs. Hage is currently working on a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from Marshall University.

Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, shooting, camping, and writing. She has been married to Scott Hage for 16 years; their family includes a one year old daughter (Rane) and five German Shepherds (Apex, Loki, Deezel, Echo, and Timber).
