United Technical Center is a public multi-county technical school located on Route 19 North of Clarksburg. The school is open to high school juniors and seniors. Adults who have a high school diploma, a GED, or who are working toward a GED may also apply. The Center offers low-cost tuition for adult students.
United Technical Center is a West Virginia School of Excellence and its faculty and staff are committed to excellence in all aspects of the facility. The High Schools That Work, Tech Prep, Work-Based Learning, and various initiatives are examples of extra projects that the administration and faculty are dedicated to in addition to the regular curricular activities. United Technical Center reflects the cooperative efforts between schools, business/industry, and the community to prepare students for entry into the global market and/or further education and training. Students may earn college credit through articulation, transcript in escrow, and/or dual credit in its programs. These agreements are with such colleges as Glenville State, WVUP, WVU at Tech, Fairmont State and various other institutions. Students may also participate in a 13th year scholarship program at the school. UTC offers programs that are nationally recognized and credentialed. Students who pass these tests will then become nationally certified.
