The Governor's Honors Academy Applications are available online now.   Please go to the online application at http://www.govschools.wv.gov.  Students need to fill out the online application and the paper application as well.  The paper application is due to the county office on January 16, 2015.

SENIORS -- (3.2 GPA and above) The Harrison County Student Achievement board awarded 68 scholarships last year!
 
Click on the link for the main information about the scholarship and an application.  We ENCOURAGE students to complete the application electronically using the fillable form on thewww.harrisonstudentachieve.com website and then PRINTING it out and submitting to Mrs. Michaels.
 
If you are a senior student interested in receiving a scholarship from the Mollohan Foundation, please be sure to View the website for more information......mollohanfoundation.org/student-programs/scholarships
 
The James and Derek Hotsinpiller Scholarship Board of Directors is pleased to open the application process for  Seniors graduating in May 2015.
 
At the present time, the scholarship recipients receive $500.00 per semester.  They can re-apply each semester.  If they meet the grade point average and course of study requirements they can receive $500.00 more per semester for undergraduate school for a total of $4000.00.
 
Please see Mrs. Michael for more information.  The deadline is March 2, 2015. 
 
THE FOUNDATION OF MONONGALIA GENERAL HOSPITAL is offering HEALTH CAREER SCHOLARSHIPS  ($1000 PER SCHOOL YEAR).
 Applications must be received by March 15, 2015 at The Foundation of Mon General Hospital.  
See Mrs. Michaels for more information.

Choir will be out today to perform for elementary school students today. 
 
Juniors:  Governors' Honors Academy applications -- paper forms -- must be submitted to Mrs. Michael by Wednesday, January 14th.  Please see Mrs. Michael or myself for information regarding this summer experience.
 
Ugly Christmas Sweater Day -- Friday, December 19th.  We will check participation during AA like we did during Homecoming week -- the grade level with the highest participation will be released 5 minutes early on Friday.
 
Mr. Davis  from BSN Sports will be here today to deliver varsity jackets.  You must have your balance due in order to receive your jacket.  Please see me if you need to check your balance.
 
Semester Exams will begin on Friday, January 9th.  All students must take four exams -- starting with core classes.  Additionally, if you have below a 2.0 average in a class, your teacher may require you to take the examination in that class.  Teachers should provide semester exam review sheets to students prior to the Christmas break.
 
F.Y.I.:

Health Clinic is open at the HS on Tuesdays and at the MS on Thursdays for student and staff use.  Please report to the office on Thursdays if you wish to go to the middle school to receive services at the health clinic.

In the summer of 1996, the Harrison County Board members officially separated South Harrison High School and South Harrison Middle School into two facilities.
 
In 2006, the Harrison County Board voted and once again placed the high school and middle school under one administration.
Again in 2010, the Harrison County Board members voted to once again split the High School and Middle School into two separate facilities.
