Benedum Collaborative in Harrison County Schools

     In the early "1990", the Benedum Collaborative was established with the ideal situation of preparing new teachers within the school systems.  This program was developed around three goals:

• Goal One: To redesign the Teacher Education Program at West Virginia University
• Goal Two: To establish professional development schools
• Goal Three: To establish collaborative strategies and relationships to make these changes last

Harrison County teachers and administrators have been active partners in this program since 1997.  Several excellent teachers who are graduates of this program are making their teaching careers in Harrison County.
