What's New?

     We are so excited to have a brand new iMAC lab fully equipped with thirty iMAC computers with twenty inch screens. These computers also have a Windows Vista platform. 

     Grades K-5 visit the computer lab once or twice weekly.  Kindergarten and First Grade are presently working on the the A to Zap program.  This program reinforces letter and sound recognition. In the next couple of weeks, they will begin working on the Odyssey basic skills program.   Grades two and three have been working on Odyssey and  will be beginning Techknowledge, which is the adopted curriculum for Harrison County.  This program covers all areas of technology and is leveled according to grade. 

     The Fourth and Fifth Grades are using the MS Office Word 2008 program which is found in the iMAC platform of the computers. Fourth Grade is creating acrostics with their first names and Fifth Grade is writing Biopoems.  Both grades are using the built-in webcams and the Photo Booth program to take their own photos and then insert them into their documents.

     Future plans call for the Fourth and Fifth grades to create PowerPoint presentations using the 2008 version of Microsoft Office PowerPoint in the MAC platform.
