Second grade students are practicing for better reading fluency using skills they have learned for good word attack and improved oral reading.  Students learn vocabulary, do activities, create art projects and discuss the content for a comprehensive understanding of the selection.  Using well-written, complete sentence answers to comprehension questions is one major focus for good communication of ideas and student understanding of a concept.

What's Happening?

End of the year competitions are on-going with spelling bees and timed mathematics skills tests to earn special recognition at the school awards day.

Homework Assignments

Daily homework consists of reading and studying spelling words, special words to know, high frequency words and improving basic mathematics facts in addition and subtraction.  Please see the agenda book for daily assignments.
