Susan Lee Collins, Superintendent
Harrison County Board of Education

Susan Lee Collins has been an educator in the Harrison County School system for almost 30 years and is now prepared for her newest role as superintendent of schools. Mrs. Collins began her educational career as a teacher at Lincoln High School after earning her BA in special education and library science from West Virginia University. She then earned her MA in education administration in 1979 from WVU and continued to serve the students of Harrison County in an administrative capacity.

Mrs. Collins has served as both assistant principal and principal at all programmatic levels. Prior to taking on the role of assistant superintendent of schools in 2006, Mrs. Collins was administrative assistant of adolescent education for nine years.

In addition to serving in leadership positions in several education associations, she has also been a local, state, and national presenter on the topics of leadership and curriculum. Her community involvement includes work with the United Way and the Clarksburg Salvation Army.

As superintendent of schools, Mrs. Collins looks forward to working with the board members, administration, teachers, staff, parents, students, and community members to see that all of Harrison County Schools’ students are successful learners and future leaders.
