Hi my name is Jennifer Stark and I am the K-3 Special Education teacher here at Big Elm Elementary. I have been a teacher for 7 years in Marion County, where I spent the last 4 of those years in a Special Education Classroom. I am a resident of Shinnston and am very excited about teaching in my hometown. I am looking forward to the 2011-2012 school year and working with your child.
Homework schedule is as follows: Monday - Your child will bring home Spelling words for the week. They are to write them 3x's each and return them on Wednesday. Wednesday - I will collect Spelling homework and give the Spelling pre-test (if a satisfactory grade is scored on the pre-test, your child will NOT have to take the test on Friday. Thursday - A Math homework sheet is sent home. This is due on Friday. Friday - I will collect Math homework and give the final Spelling Test to those students who have to take it.
** Live Grades will be updated every Tuesday**
Take Home Folders Your child also has a colored "Take Home Folder" that he/she will bring home daily. In this folder you will find a home note containing information about your childs behavior, homework, tests, etc. I have found that this is an excellent way to communicate with one another. Please take time to look it over and initial it at the top each evening.
