Johnson Elementary SchoolEagles Watch Our- Garden of Learning -Grow Throughout the Year!
CONGRATULATIONS JES - WV SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE JOHNSON ELEMENTARY was one of the sixteen West Virginia schools that have earned the prestigious Schools of Excellence award for the 2010-2011 school year !
Johnson Elementary was honored on two occasions during the 2009-2010 school year. The school was named an Exemplary School in the fall, one of 65 elementary schools out of approximately 489 elementary schools in the state and then selected as a WV School of Excellence in May 2010, one of 16 in the state. Thanks to the hard work of students, teachers, support staff, and parents for making this possible. Dr. Paine, WV State Superintendent of Schools, presented the school with two banners and a lovely plaque. The banners are proudly hanging with others won by the school in years past and the plaque is proudly displayed in the trophy case. Our teaching staff of experienced teachers has from 15-30 plus years in the field of education. The Johnson Elementary staff includes professionals who are committed to solving problems, accepting new challenges, and providing varied learning opportunities. Teachers structure an environment in which students are challenged to become self-motivated, self-directed, and self-disciplined. The faculty is committed to professional growth and development.
Our students have been successful as they leave us and go on to Bridgeport Middle and Senior High Schools, two of the state’s academically high achieving schools. At Johnson, we do our best to reach all children and address their needs in order to provide quality learning experiences.
