3rd Grade - Mrs. Romeo's Homepage

 Welcome to my homepage.

Let me introduce myself.   My name is Jacklin Lea Nixon Romeo.

I'm a native of Harrison County, born and raised in Shinnston, WV.  My first ten years of my married life was spent in Prince George County, Maryland.   I have been teaching in Harrison County for thirty years having experienced every grade from Pre K to Fifth Grade.   I can truly say that my favorite grade to teach is third.   I love teaching at Johnson Elementary as our Third Grades do many fun units.

My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education and my Masters Degree is in Administration and Supervison from West Virginia University.  I have another 60 hours beyond that in the teaching of reading and math.  I served six years on the Board of Directors for the Appalachian Educational Laboratory and nine years on the Evaluation Team of the National Council for the Accredidation of Teacher Education.  Several summers I worked as a consultant on change for the Governor's Center for Professional Development.  My hobbies include reading, computing, and learning about nutrition and alternative health.  I am a level II Reiki Practioner and certified in Polarity Therapy.

I love to travel and have been fortunate to have been to Europe, Mexico, Canada, and most states in the US including Hawaii.  My favorite places to visit are the Carribean Islands.   The most exciting thing that I ever did was to scuba dive.  I now stay with snorkeling   I enjoy yoga, walking, swimming, and dancing.   I have been truly blessed with three children, four grandchildren, and a wonderful husband.  I also feel very fortunate to be doing what I most enjoy-- teaching!
