I am a graduate from WVU. I have taught for 31 years in Harrison County.
17 years of 3rd grade
6 years of 1st grade
1 year of special education
1 year of 5th grade
1 year of 6th grade
5 years of 2nd grade
I believe in a "Balanced Literacy" classroom which includes listening and computer , writing,word work, and library stations. The main center is the small reading group center where we read books at each child's reading level. Eventually, these books will be brought home to read to you. Remember a fluent reader reads ten to fifteen minutes daily.
