Dear Johnson Elementary Students and Parents:
It is good to begin another exciting year at Johnson Elementary School!. We will be learning many things in music class.Hopefully, all students will be able to perform in a program for parents and friends this year. We will be learning about all of the elements of music and will sing and move to music.
As we LEAP INTO LEARNING at Johnson, we will emphasize L.E.A.P.-- Learn, Enjoy, Appreciate and Participate in school !and will create a rap with these words.
We will sing a variey of different types of songs, echo songs, partner songs and rounds throughout the year. We will move to music-- emphasizing beat and rhythm and will use various musical instruments. Various games and listening activities will also be included.
I hope to purchase melody bells for all classes and we will continue to learn treble clef notes and will work again with Mr Everybody's Musical Apartment . Students will use the glockenspiels and various percussion classroom instruments.
The Choral program will be at the high school auditorium on Tuesday evening, December 1, 2009.
Fourth and Fifth Grade Choir will "Rock and Roll" and younger students will have a "beary good time" too.
Best wishes to you and may we all have a very happy and successful year!
