Mrs. Nicki Parrish
About Me: I have been a school counselor since 2000. I possess an M.A. in school counseling from WVU, and a B.S. in psychology from Fairmont State College.
Office Hours: 7:30 -3:00
Office location: After entering main doors, counselor's office is to the right. You must check in the main office prior to coming to counselor's office
The purpose of the school counseling program is to impart specific skills and learning opportunities in a proactive, preventive manner, ensuring all students can achieve school success through academic, career and personal/social developmental experiences.
A school counselor is someone who listens and does not judge. A counselor tells the truth, and maintains confidentiality.
The WVU Institute of Technology invites high school students (incoming 9th -12th graders) from across the state to attend a weeklong exploration of possibilities for future careers in science, technology, engineering and math during camp STEM which will be held from June 24-29, 2012. The camp is held at the Montgomery campus. The fee for the camp is $250.00 per camper, but they have a number of full need-based scholarships available. I have registrataion packets in my office, and students can also register online at http://campstem.wvutech.edu. In addition to the registration packet, students will need a copy of their transcripts and a letter of recommendation from a teacher.
