Mrs. Shawna Hathaway Guidance Office Mountaineer Middle School WHAT: Counselor available for students who want to talk about social, academic, and personal issues. Issues discussed in counselor's office are confidential, UNLESS student reports any harm to self or others. Counselor also available for parents to discuss academics issues. Outside referral agencies are available for students with more serious issues affecting daily functioning. WHEN: Counselor available during school hours, 7:30-3:05 pm WHERE: Office located at Mountaineer Middle School. After entering main doors, counselor's office is to the right. WHY: Students are faced with peer pressure, school pressure, family issues, and varying developmental issues at this age. Students need someone to talk to and to help them sort through these issues. Students develop their decision making skills to help them to function more effectively in life. HOW: Counselor may be contacted at (304) 326-7627. Counselor is available for individual and group counseling and conflict resolution between students. |
