Loria Reid has been employed with Harrison County Schools since 1981.
She graduated from West Virginia University in 1981 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a specialization in Early Childhood Education.
In 1986, she completed her Masters of Arts in Education from West Virginia University.
In 2002, she obtained National Board Certification in the area of Early Childhood/Generalist.
Also in 2002, Ms. Reid received the RESA VII Exemplary Teaching Award.
In 2004, she completed her administrative certification through West Virginia University.
And in 2005, Ms. Reid was named Harrison County’s Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Reid began her teaching experience in 1981 at Sardis Elementary, where she taught a combination first and second grade classroom. In 1983, she started a long career in teaching kindergarten at Linden Elementary and then at Nutter Fort Primary.
In 2004, she became Assistant Principal at Nutter Fort Primary.
Finally, in 2005, Ms. Reid became the Principal of Simpson Elementary School.
