Dear Parents,
FORMS FOR THE TRIPS TO WVU AND FAIRMONT STATE WENT HOME TODAY. THEY NEED TO BE TURNED INTO MRS. FOX BY 10-18-11. LATE PAPERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND THOSE STUDENTS WILL REMAIN IN SCHOOL WITH A FIFTH GRADE TEACHER.
CONDUCT GRADES BEGAN TODAY. EACH DAY THE STUDENTS BEGIN WITH 10 POINTS. ONE POINT IS DEDUCTED FOR EACH TIME A STUDENT HAS THEIR NAME ON THE BOARD FOR NOT FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS, DISTURBS THE CLASS BY TALKING, AND RUNNING THROUGH THE HALLS. 5 POINTS DEDUCTED FOR EACH TIME A STUDENT TALKS DURING A GRADED CLASS ASSIGNMENT OR TEST.
As you are tracking grades, if you notice a zero as a grade your child may have been absent when that grade was taken. The zero means that this grade must be made up and will remain a zero until the test is made up or the assignment is completed. This helps me to track assignments and keeps the students aware of their graded make-up work. If there is no grade look to see if I have excused that assignment. If a comment of "excused" has been given, then that work does not need to be made up. Always check for comments. If you have any questions feel free to call.
Homework is not graded as correct or incorrect. It is graded as 5 or 10 points for doing it everytime it is assigned. If a student does not do his or her homework, a grade of 0/5 or 0/10 is recorded. If the student only did 1/2 of their homework, then only 1/2 of the points will be recorded. Homework is not recorded as bonus points. If a student has a habit of not doing his or her homework it will hurt their grade. You can find homework assignments on this website and you can track your child's grades on livegrades.
