We still need to work on the following rules:

Remember to work on keep hands to self, no talking in the halls, and no talking when the teacher is.  Look at the teacher when she is talking.  

We do not write in our agenda on Friday.  I do not give any homework on Friday.  Thank you for checking planners.  Encourage and praise neat writing in their agenda.  Empty blue folders daily and read their agendas.  PLEASE SEND BACK ANY BOOKS THAT I SEND HOME IN THEIR READING FOLDER WHEN FINISHED READING THEM WITH YOUR CHILD.

READING STORY / HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS

The Children are reading leveled readers from last story.

Please review words and read all books that come home to help your child with fluency and reading with expression.

PLEASE PRACTICE ALL SIGHT WORDS INTRODUCED EACH WEEK ALONG WITH KINDERGARTEN WORDS.  IF YOUR CHILD KNOWS THE SIGHT WORDS, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE THEM EASIER WHEN READING SENTENCES FOR ME OR THE STORY OF THE WEEK.

 Spelling words :  FINISHED WITH SPELLING LISTS.

    WE JUST FINISHED WORKING ON NAMING PARTS AND ACTION PARTS IN SENTENCES.  I AM TRYING TO ALSO USE THE TERMS SUBJECT AND VERB.  REVIEW THESE WITH YOUR CHILD IN SENTENCES YOU HAVE THEM READ OR WRITE.  WE ARE STILL WORKING ON PRONOUNS."

     SCIENCE - We will be discussing the invention of electricity.  We will make kites.

     MATH - We will be reviewing coins and counting coins.  The children will earn play coins for good behavior in the hallway.  We will also start to work on measurement.

     SOCIAL STUDIES:  Who was Ben Franklin?
