May 17, 2010 In reading we will be reviewing all short vowels and vocabulary words through the end of school. I will also show students how to change short vowels in to long vowels. We are continuing to write sentences by remembering to start and end a sentence correctly. We are also focusing on how to make a short paragraph. In math class we are working hard on solving word problems that involve adding or subtracting. This is a hard skill to learn, but they are coming along nicely. I just finished giving the Dibels Reading Test for the end of the year and starting next week I will give the end of the year test for Dibels Math. If you received a letter from Mrs. Reid asking you to write a note explaining why your child missed more than 10 days please get it to me by Tuesday so I can turn them in at one time. I am only missing a couple and I would like to mark this off my to do list for the end of the year. I am going to apologize in advance for what is coming- I know when I am being a nag, but I can't help it. (lol) Please, please, please do not send your child in high heels or flip flops. During the course of the day we go up and down stairs for planning periods and obviously up and down to the playground. I don't have the time to let children change shoes before we are ready to walk out the door let alone tie all of them. Thanks Contact me: kromano@access.k12.wv.us |
