Hello, My name is Melinda Helmick. I live in Fairmont, WV and I am a graduate of the first class at Liberty High School.  I attended Fairmont State College and WVU.  I have taught school for 27 years.  I taught Special Education before teaching the fifth grade.  I have been a part of the Wilsonburg Staff for 26 years.  I am looking forward to working with your children and I am hopeful for a successful year in preparing your child for middle school.     

     I am very excited for the new school year to begin.  I am looking forward to working with all my students and their parents.  The fifth grade is a very important year as we prepare for middle school.  There will be many new and exciting challenges ahead.  Opportunities such as band, choir, D.A.R.E. and other programs are unique and available only to fifth grade students.  I hope all of you will be as excited to begin as I am.
