Washington Irving Middle School is located in the historic heart of downtown Clarksburg, West Virginia. Affectionately known as "The Hilltoppers", our school colors are gold and blue. Built in 1913, WIMS is one of five middle schools in the Harrison County school district. Our local high school is nearby Robert C. Byrd High School. Serving approximately 600 students in grades 6-8, WIMS utilizes the team concept. Each grade level is divided into teams, Team Blue and Team Gold. Each team consists of a set of core curriculum teachers. All students rotate through a host of related arts classes. The school is equipped with a library media center, gymnasium, art room, home economics lab, shop, band room, auditorium, two computer labs, and two mobile labs. The administrative staff consists of a principal, assistant principal, and a full-time guidance counselor.
